A dream, an ambitious dream made its first public appearance today. The herculean task of establishing an underwater cable connection stretching 1396km and reaching depths of up to 3,000 metres does not, in itself, daunt me. Where there’s a will and dedication, there’s a way.

The project has embarked on its path of implementation and the governments of Egypt, Cyprus and Greece are offering their full support and commitment.The technical studies have already begun and should be completed within the year and presented to the governments of the cooperating nations.

What gratifies me most is that the EuroAfrica Interconnector will become a significant source of prosperity and optimism for our countries.
